VIDEO YOUR FUTURE

Let's do some pretending.
You have received a magical video camera.
But there's a problem. Big problem! You can't take videos with it. At least not the normal kind.
When you point it toward the world it records nothing. Point it toward you and it picks up all the images in your mind that will influence your tomorrow. Scary, huh?
What will the video show? Health... success...prosperity...friends...or happiness? Or maybe you'll be looking at sickness...lack...tension... boredom...or unhappiness?
Okay, so none of us are perfect. We've all got our quirks and cracks. But we don't have to keep them. Let's start changing yours today.
HERE'S THE FIRST STEP.
What quirk or crack would you like to edit out of your life? Perhaps it's a health problem. Or maybe your purse contains moths instead of dollars. Whatever. Select the one most important to you.
Now, let's write a script to eliminate your 'whatever' forever.
Let's say your 'whatever' is a health problem. If so, the first thing you must do is forget the problem. I'm serious. In your script the problem can not and will not exist.
Easy? Not very...particularly if you've been nursing a chronic condition for any length of time. But it is possible. Give it some sweat time.
It will help to outline your script on paper. Written words carry weight.
It need be nothing elaborate. Perhaps just words that describe the way you want to be. Vibrant, active, energetic. See yourself walking with a spring in your step, head held high, breathing God's fresh air.
Now notice what you're doing? You've just begun producing a video of the new you.
Keep going. Edit. Build on the images you like best. Feel the wonderful emotions being generated by these images.
Rerun the video over and over until it's exactly the way you want it. Now, watch it a thousand times a day.
Okay...so maybe a thousand is stretching it a bit. The point is, you want to watch your video as often as possible. It doesn't have to take long. Perhaps a minute or so. And believe me the results can be astonishing.
YOUR VIDEO IS BOTH BIBLICAL & SCIENTIFIC.
Remember what Jesus told the woman with the issue of blood. "Your faith has made you well." (Mark 5:34) Notice, he did not heal her. Her faith was the healing factor.
Where did this faith come from? Her mental video! (Don't turn me off because I'm going high-tech. Mental videos have been around since the Garden. They just masquerade under different names.)
What was the woman's video. She saw herself running up to Jesus, touching his robe and being instantly healed. She saw. She knew. And may well have played her video a thousand times before Jesus actually arrived.
SCIENCE PLAYS THE VIDEO GAME WITH SUGAR PILLS.
It's called The Placebo Effect. Researchers give people a sugar pill and tell them it's a new wonder drug. Absolutely guaranteed to cure their 'whatever'. The receivers believe it. They see it. They swallow it. And guess what? Often their 'whatever' symptoms disappear.
Of course, when the research project ends and they learn the truth, so also ends their cure. This has happened so often it's commonplace.
Yes...the videos you play in your mind can make you sick. But if they can make you sick, they can also make you well. And that goes for almost any negative condition you are experiencing.
To change these negatives you write a new script. Then produce a video. On the video play the hero. Experience the victory. Through persistence your video will become reality.
SKEPTICAL? GIVE IT A TRY.
Produce your video. Keep it simple and focused on only one problem.
Play it at least five times a day for 21 days. Why 21? Because that seems to be the magical number for establishing a new habit. And that's what you're doing. You're creating a new habit of thought which produces faith.
Try it. I double dare you. The only thing you have to lose is some negative 'whatevers' that are probably mucking up your life.
